Not all celebs care about drunken elephants

I love when celebrities pick a charity and go nuts about it. I am glad that their social status can make a change in something, like because they are the spokesperson you want to help save the stray dogs or plant a tree. Ben Affleck was at the Sundance Film Festival this week talking about his new documentary Reporter which tells the story of journalist Nicholas Kristof’s journey to The Republic of Congo. Affleck even discussed the fact that celebs do have their little causes but the bigger picture is out their for journalists to report and uncover. I think its cool he throws it out there that people need to pay more attention to the big picture of major issues that are affecting the world, like Darfur and Rwanda. Maybe not all celebs are just picking random charities to promote but honestly care about the major issues? I’m game to find out.

  1. Sounds like an interesting documentary, I'll have to check it out.

  2. You should watch Ewan McGregor's "Long Way Down" documentary series about traveling by motorcycle through Africa. He and his traveling companion, Charlie Boorman, work on behalf of a couple of different charities, and show a wide part of the world we wouldn't see otherwise.
